India’s food regulator issues new rules for imported food

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued new rules to regulate the imports of food item to stop the entry of sub-standard and close-to-expiry products.

The new rules also cover licensing norms for food importers, documentation for Imports and customs house agent, clearance of imported food, storage, inspection and sampling of imported food and prohibition and restrictions on food imports
