Indian parliament’s budget session to run from Feb 23 to May 13

The budget session of the Indian parliament will begin from February 23 and will continue till May 13, 2016 subject to exigencies of government business, with recess from March 17 to April 24, a government statement said.

The session will open with the address of President Shri Pranab Mukherjee. The annual railway budget will be presented on February 25 and the annual economic survey the next day.  The annual budget of the government will be presented by the finance minister on February 29, the statement said.

The session spread over 81 days will have 31 sittings.
