The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly to deny China market economy status – which would have made it harder to stop Beijing from dumping cut-price steel. China’s cheap exports are the main reason for the collapse of the British steel industry which has lost more than 5,000 jobs in the last six months, according to The Guardian.
