Indian agri commodities had a flat start on Thursday with little or no movement seen in the top flight contracts.
The Dhaanya index fell 2 points to quote at 2,967 in initial trades. jeera and cottonseed oil cake futures rose between 0.4-0.5 percent, while mild downticks were seen in barley, chana and sugar futures.
Commodities outside the index showed better price changes. Barley July futures fell 1 percent to 1,565 rupees and were the top losers. Barley June futures were down 0.4 percent to 1,545 rupees. Selling was also observed on maize feed industrial grade.
On the winning side were guar gum, refined soya oil and cottonseed oil cake futures. Guar gum for June and July futures rose 50 rupees each to 5,110 and 5,190 rupees respectively. Cottonseed oil cake was up 1 percent to 2,358 rupees.
