Delhi-based solar manufacturer, Gautam Solar, has expanded the capacity of its manufacturing unit of solar module mounting structures by 10 times from 50 metric tonnes (MT) to 500 MT per month.
Gautam Solar’s manufacturing unit is located in Haridwar and will produce module mounts for solar pumps, solar power plants, solar street lights, and high masts, according to the company press release.
“Our expansion plans have been in the pipeline for a while. The unit promises to be a one-stop solution for solar power plant and pump systems integrators,” said Gautam Mohanka, managing director, Gautam Solar.
Further Mohanka added that earlier solar system integrators faced the issue of non-compatibility between the mounting structures and solar panels. While standalone structure manufacturers did not have an understanding of solar and missed minute but important issues related to integration. Gautam Solar’s manufacturing unit hopes to resolve those issues.
Moreover, the structures have been designed to wind speed up to 150 kilometres per hour. Earlier in the year, Gautam Solar had put on stream additional module manufacturing capacity at its Haridwar facility, taking the total capacity to 250 megawatts (MW), from the existing 120 MW.
